It's fully open source, runs as both an L1 and L2 client, and is ZK-optimized from the ground up.

A based rollup uses Ethereum L1 validators for sequencing instead of running a centralized sequencer. This means your chain inherits Ethereum's liveness and censorship resistance by default — no single point of failure, no sequencer downtime, minimized MEV extraction. For regulated financial products, this architecture eliminates a major trust assumption.
